Combination Cranes & Transport provides ticketed rigger hire across Melbourne — basic, intermediate and advanced riggers, dogmen for slinging and signalling, and crane-experienced labourers booked by the day, the week or the project. Our Melbourne rigger hire service is fully insured, fully ticketed and backed by a track record on commercial construction sites. Whether you’re booking a single dogman to support an existing crew or putting together a multi-discipline team for a complex lift, we’ve got the people who’ve done your kind of job before.

Tell us how many people, what tickets, and how long — we’ll have a crew on site.
You don’t need to book the whole package. We provide rigger hire on a daily, weekly or project basis — even when the crane is coming from somewhere else. If you’re already running a Combination Cranes lift, the riggers and labourers come scheduled by us, ticketed, insured and on-site for setup. Either way, the crew on the ground knows what they’re doing before they walk in.
The crew on the ground decides whether a lift goes smoothly or burns hours.
Riggers. Configure the lift — slings, shackles, spreader bars, lift points. We provide all three rigging classifications:
Basic rigging — straightforward lifts under standard configurations
Intermediate rigging — cranes with multiple lifting points, dual-crane lifts, mast climbers
Advanced rigging — complex tilt-up panels, demolition rigging, height-and-confined-space work
Dogmen. Direct the crane operator from the load’s perspective — slinging, signalling, controlling the load through the lift radius. Required on most commercial lifts and explicitly required under AS 2550 crane safe-use standards for certain configurations.
Crane-experienced labourers. Site setup, crane-mat positioning, exclusion-zone management and post-lift demob. Available standalone or alongside our crane hire and lift project management services.
