Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25th May 2026

ROY WALLACE (ABN 51 699 038 937), trading as Combination Cranes & Transport (“we“, “us“, “our“), is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information we collect, hold, use, and disclose. This Privacy Policy explains how we manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy applies to information collected through our website at https://combinationcranes.melbourne, by phone, by email, and in person when you engage our crane hire or heavy transport services.

1. What information we collect

We may collect the following kinds of personal information:

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, business name, and postal address provided via our website enquiry forms, by phone, or by email.

  • Job-related information — site address, lift or transport requirements, load specifications, project timelines, access details, and any other information you provide when requesting a quote or booking.

  • Billing information — purchase order numbers, billing address, and ABN (we do not store full credit card details — payment processing is handled by third-party providers).

  • Website usage information — IP address, device type, browser, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location, collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools (see section 6).

  • Marketing preferences — your consent to receive marketing communications and your subsequent preferences (e.g. unsubscribe requests).

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) and we do not collect government identifiers unless required by law (for example, ABN for tax invoices).

2. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you — when you submit a website form, call us, email us, or engage our services.

  • From third parties — when a customer, broker, or referrer provides your contact details for a job (for example, a project manager listing you as a site contact).

  • Automatically — via cookies and analytics tools when you visit our website (see section 6).

3. Why we collect and use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and provide quotes

  • Plan, schedule, and deliver crane hire and heavy transport services

  • Issue invoices and process payments

  • Communicate about active jobs (scheduling, access, safety, completion)

  • Meet our legal, safety, insurance, and tax obligations

  • Send marketing communications, with your consent (see section 7)

  • Improve our website, services, and customer experience

  • Investigate and resolve complaints or disputes

4. Who we disclose information to

We may disclose personal information to the following types of recipients:

  • Service providers — our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, email and SMS providers, website host, analytics providers, accounting software, payment processors, and insurance underwriters.

  • Subcontractors and partners — operators, riggers, transport partners, and crane suppliers engaged to deliver your job.

  • Regulators, insurers, and authorities — where required by law, for incident reporting, or to enforce our rights.

  • Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, and auditors.

4.1 Overseas disclosure (APP 8)

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. The most likely overseas locations are:

  • United States —  Google services (Analytics, Tag Manager, Workspace), and content delivery network (Cloudflare).

Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs, including through contractual protections and reliance on recognised data protection frameworks where applicable.

5. Storage and security

We store personal information in secure cloud systems with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS), role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrators, and regular backups. Physical records, where they exist, are kept in locked premises.

We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy or as required by law (for example, financial records under Australian tax law are kept for at least five years).
